Should We Really Expect Privacy?

There’s much ado about our expectation of privacy every time I turn around.  We expect privacy when dealing with medical issues.  There was a big deal made when the feds wanted access to what we checked out at our libraries.  We don’t want the government invading our bedrooms.  And it goes on and on and on….

Well, there’s bad news for some people who visit a porn website called YouPorn.  I don’t know anyone who frequents these websites, but according to the article I just read, if people do like porn, it’s probably something they don’t talk about.  Even though a lot of people are willing to post on the internet just about anything about themselves and are open about their sex lives, their love/addiction/interest in porn isn’t something that’s generally advertised.  I don’t know and I don’t care.

What I found interesting, though, is that the website’s own sloppiness has caused the information of millions of subscribers to be leaked and made public.

I always say if you don’t want anyone to know what you’re doing, stay off the internet.  Once it’s out there, it’s out there and there’s nothing you can about it.
